The P1 Marine Foundation recognises the huge ecological importance of the marine environment in that it is irreplaceable and essential. Consequently it is committed to conservation by promoting and supporting research through creating partnerships, fundraising and raising awareness.
The P1 Marine Foundation believes that education is a fundamental element in protecting the marine environment. Therefore we are dedicated to creating and implementing education programmes to develop the understanding and value of marine life.
We seek to find new initiatives to raise public awareness that will be a benefit to the marine environment and the future of the marine community.
We are currently working with Powerboat P1 to establish environmental initiatives at their SuperStock events. An important part of this activity is raising awareness within Powerboat P1, its community and key audiences.
We aim to engage with local and international communities through education initiatives and programmes.
The P1 Marine Foundation National Student Awards scheme is designed to promote interdisciplinary undergraduate or postgraduate research projects that successfully combine the themes of technological innovation and improved environmental performance in the marine sector.
We intend to create partnerships to form a global network that will form ideas and initiatives to help and promote the health of the oceans.
The Lancashire Wildlife Trust are one of our key partners and as part of a special initiative, the foundation presented them with an award for their Shoresearch Project in September 2011.
