| Describe Yourself: | INTERESTING FACTS: John and I have been friends since 1993. We met through a mutual interest in aviation and in 2007 he asked me if I would like to navigate for him in a powerboat racing team. I imagine he thought, 'Well, he can navigate a plane and he has some idea about power boats. I guess he would have some idea what to do'. Either that or he couldn't find anyone else! Fortunately, through a combination of hard work, luck, John's excellent driving and me not getting us lost (too often) we've forged a winning combination and have had our fair share of success and hope that 2012 is another safe and competitive season. My partner Debbie and I have five lovely children between us, ranging from 10 ' 20 years old, all of whom come to watch the races and support the Pertemps team. Away from power-boating my first love is flying. My father was a pilot and at the age of ten I landed my first aeroplane under his guidance. I have flown 68 types of aircraft ranging from micro-lights to business jets and currently have 1100 hrs pilot-in-command time. In 2002 I gained my Commercial Pilots License and I am type-rated to fly Citation business jets. In 2003 I ran the London Marathon and beat my brother round the course by 5 seconds: he's still recovering from it! I guess I am competitive then! Oh, and somewhere in there I have to cut some hair to make a living. | ||||||||||
