Messages of Support for Dan Whapples

Following the accident in Weymouth we caught up with Dan who is recovering at home.
He has been visited by a number of P1 SuperStock UK racers and our good wishes go out to him and his family.

Happily Dan's recovery continues to make progress. All the staples have been removed from the wounds on his back, he no longer has to see the surgeon and only has to go back to hospital for check-ups. Although Dan is now officially off pain killers because of some discomfort he remains signed off from work and will be for another two months with no lifting allowed.

"I sincerely want to thank everyone so much for all the kind words and support. There were many, many people involved in my rescue, recovery and rehabilitation and I am so thankful and grateful to them all - P1 SuperStock, Southampton General, friends and family.", he said. "I can't believe my recovery progress to be honest and know I am extremely lucky. My thoughts are with Mike and his family, it was a privilege to have met and raced with him. Sadly missed but never forgotten."

Dan also commented that his 18 month old rescue labrador Max has been great comfort and helped his recovery by keeping him moving as much as possible.

We hope Dan continues his speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him up and about very soon.
